LOVED it!!!! Loved the family feeling the author brings to the blackjack table. Before I read this book, I understood the basic rules of the game and generally had good luck when I played. But I always felt so much stress, even when winning! From Ms. Green's stories and advice, I now see what I was missing--the fact that players are a community, kind of like a family. Each sister and brother are ready to support each other. Yes, really help each other win! At Green's blackjack tables, like in all families, there's a lot of hilarious drama, compassion, shared hopes and disappointments, but, most importantly, there's connection. Blackjack Tips & Etiquette is great for anyone who already loves the game or for someone like me who wants to gain a little more confidence and enjoy the thrill without all the stress.This book is funny, entertaining, and very useful. finally a great book about blackjack... i love playing and could relate to Green's experiences and advice. i wish everyone would read this before playing!
This is a very helpful compilation of useful tips and observations of behavior at the Blackjack table. Beginners and novices will find it entertaining, helpful, and funny.
This is a must read for any novice who is considering sitting down at blackjack table. It explains strategy and etiquette that is basic for the seasoned player, but talks of rules written and unwritten, that a newbie could learn from. There should be two sections of blackjack tables, those who have read the book, and those who haven't...
I enjoy playing blackjack and I feel this book provides excellent tips for new and experienced players. The "cheat sheet" basic strategy is decent enough, but I choose to use one slightly different. That's about the only thing I disagree with, but its not really a negative is it? Funny commentary and real stories make it a decent read. I wish there were more stories and also more in depth explanations on situations, but this book isn't really a "beating the system" type book as it is more about etiquette, something the common player lacks. If you have friends who have never played and are planning a Vegas/casino trip, I'd get them this book to read the week before so they know how to play and act so they don't become "that player" as most regular players will know what I mean.

This book is a good read for novices to the game. Although it will only teach you the very basics of the game, it will more importantly teach you about the experience of being at the blackjack table. If you want to learn advanced blackjack strategy, then this is not the book for you. But if you want to experience what it feels like to be at a blackjack table, this book will guide the novice in the right path.
While a friendly, short book. I cannot recommend it. The 'go with the flow of the cards' advice is terrible and against basic strategy. The etiquette and stories are nice. The blackjack advice is dead wrong.
Shockingly short. Brochure length. Perhaps a virtue if you don't want to read much. If this were used as an outline and filled out a bit the material would morph into a decent book. I pushed past the stuff an editor may have changed spelling; organization; coherence, and did find content worth reading. A candid look at the big picture of how the relationships and play at a table affect winning. I found this interesting. I learned another way to look at the game and it didn't take long to do it.
